Richard Leigh "Rick" Jarvis

Richard Leigh “Rick” Jarvis, age 34, passed away on October 4, 2016. Ricky was born in Akron, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His positive, upbeat approach to life was contagious to all he encountered. He would give you the shirt off his back and put the needs of others before his own. Ricky was an avid NE Ohio sports fan who enjoyed taking in as many games on TV as possible. Hope you’re “sitting on the dock of the bay”! Preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert C. Jarvis; grandmother, Sara J. Jarvis; uncle and friend, Rodney Allen Jarvis, he is survived by his parents, Colleen Oliver (Steve Petrick) and Richard C. Jarvis; sisters, Tara (Jamie) Miller and Jessica Jarvis; grandmother, Betty Jarvis; grandparents, Gloria and Gerald Hershey; niece, Katie Lavery; nephews, Michael, Brandon and Joshua Lavery; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Friends and family will be received Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 4 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Domenick Pietro and Rev. Glen Reiff officiating. Private burial will be held.
