Richard A. Hites

Richard A. Hites, 86, went home to be with the Lord on August 28, 2023.

Born in Akron, he was a resident of Amherst, Ohio. Richard graduated from Ellet High School and worked as a USPS Carrier for 17 years. He enjoyed classic cars, music, traveling, and spending the holidays with his family.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Albert D. and Mary M. (Shenise) Hites, and sister, Mary Ann Cooley. He is survived by his children, James A. Hites and Karole L. Phillips; grandchildren, James Rodehaver, Christina Rodehaver, Cassandra Whitman, Ronald Whitman, and Heath Hites.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, September 5th from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
