Richard Harsh, age 51, went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2014.
Born in Philippi, West Virginia, he lived in Paris Township. Richard graduated from Rootstown High School. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Akron University, Richard went on to acquire his Professional Engineering License and was the owner of Harsh Engineering Services for 22 years. He was a prominent member of Rootstown United Methodist Church where he faithfully served for over 20 years. Richard loved coaching his children in basketball and soccer, serving as the head coach of the Southeast Boys Soccer Program for four years. Richard Harsh will forever be remembered as a man of unwavering faith, wisdom, humor and love.
Preceded in death by his sister, Lori Bryte; Richard is survived by his parents, Lyle and Mary Ann Harsh; his wife of 25 years, Kimberly Harsh; his three loving children, Mason (Alyssa), Emily and Colton; and sister, Cherie Parsons (Scott). Richard loved his wife and children with everything he had.
A private graveside service has taken place at Homeland Cemetery at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, December 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Rootstown United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Richard Harsh Memorial Fund at Key Bank. \
