Richard Thomas Carr Sr., 68, passed away April 4, 2015.
He was born in Akron and was a life resident of the area. Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and worked for the City of Akron.
Preceded in death by parents, Gerald and Lillian Carr; sisters, Betty and Geraldine; brother, Mark. He is survived by his second mother, Ruth Carr; sons, Richard T. Carr Jr., James (Angie) Carr; daughter, Kimberly Zuk; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and sisters, Linda and Joyce.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312. Graveside services and burial will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Arrive at funeral home by 1:15 Monday for procession to cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, NY, NY 10018.
