Ralph Nisly

March 26, 1928 — October 29, 2016

Ralph Nisly, born to John and Lizzie (Miller) Nisly, in Hutchinson, Kansas, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at The Hospice House in New Philadelphia at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ruth (Wittmer) Nisly, two sisters Frances Nisly and Edna Blough Miller, two brothers Al and Norman Nisly, two son-in-laws Wayne Miller and Harold Lowden, infant granddaughter and infant great-granddaughter. He is survived by his wife Jan Patrick Nisly of North Canton, sons; Rich (Karen) Nisly, R. Lyn (Pam) Nisly, Gordon “Butch” (Sue) Nisly, all of Hartville, daughters; Marilyn (Reuben) Miller, Norma (Henry “Cap”) Schlabach, of Hartville and Phyllis Shaffer of North Canton, grandchildren; Dave (Trina), Craig (Kathy), Chad, Kitrenda Miller, Sondra (Seth) Norton, Rich and Tim Nisly, Richie (Amy) Schlabach, Alesia (Mark) Jarrard, Willie Tran, Maria (Seth) Marana, Fred (Susie) Nisly, Ross (Brittany) Nisly, Brittany (Brian) Troyer, Dylan Nisly, 18 great-grandchildren, step-children; Sharon (John) McCann of New Jersey, Dale (Susan) Patrick of North Carolina, and Kim (Steve) Vandegrift of North Canton, 6 step-grandchildren, and 3 step-great grandchildren, sisters; Elsie Bliler of Akron, Ellen (Leon) King of Uniontown, Alma (Mel) Miller of Walnut Creek, Ruby (Joe) Schrock, Lorene (Owen) Coblentz, of Hartville, brother; John (Karen) Nisly of Akron, sister in laws; Mary Yoder, Sylvia (Harold) Yoder, and Edna Wittmer, all of Hartville, and many nieces and nephews. Ralph was a kind and gentle husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a very hard worker who founded and owned R&R Plumbing. True to his Nisly roots, he could often be seen with a cup of black coffee. He enjoyed reading and collecting John Deere memorabilia. Ralph was a member of the Hartville Mennonite Church where he served in many positions. His children remember him as a Godly man who would read his Bible and pray every morning at the kitchen table and he lived out the faith he professed. He loved helping people in times of need. He will remembered by his strong faith and generous heart. Friends and family will gather Monday, 5-8 p.m., at Evermore Community Church, 1470 Smith Kramer St., Hartville, Ohio 44632.
