Ralph H. Anderson, 91, passed away July 21, 2012.

Born in Jamestown, N.Y., he lived in Butler, Pa. and South Bend, Ind. before moving to the Uniontown area in 2008. Ralph served in the Air Force during World War II as a bombardier on the B-17, completing 15 missions before being shot down over Germany on September 11, 1944 and held as POW at Stalag Luft 1.

After the war, Mr. Anderson graduated from Hiram College where he met his wife of 49 years, Fay. He retired from Associates Investment Company in South Bend, Indiana after a long career in the financial services area. Mr. Anderson was a member of First Presbyterian Church in South Bend, where he served as a Deacon. He and his wife loved taking trips with their friends to Las Vegas, and he also enjoyed travel, photography, reading and exercise.

Preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Fay Horvath Anderson; and brother, Robert; he is survived by daughter, Sue (Charles) Straw of Oak Hill, Va.; son, Mark (Lesley) of Uniontown, Ohio; daughter, Amy (Bill) Ward of Oak Park, Ill.; and grandchildren, Evan and Katie Straw, Matthew and Emily Anderson, and Meghan Ward.

Funeral services and burial will take place in South Bend, Indiana.
