Phyllis M. Rueschman (McKain)

Phyllis M. Rueschman, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2015. 

Born in Canton, she lived in the Ellet area most of her life and was a former member of Akron Baptist Temple, where she was a Sunday school teacher. Phyllis was an excellent cook and enjoyed walking. 

Preceded in death by her husband, John L.; and brothers, Cecil and Cyril, Phyllis is survived by her sons, Jack (Nancy) and Ed (Jill); grandchildren, Michelle Wagner (Russell), Gregg (Lisa), Scott (Jo Beth) Rueschman; great-grandchildren, Rhett, Samantha, Nathan, Robbie, Sam, Raine and Savanna; sister, Joan Carol (Ken) Johnston; sister-in-law, Margo McKain; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff at Altercare of Alliance for their care of Phyllis. 

Friends and family will be received TODAY (Tuesday) from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron/Ellet, Ohio 44312, where Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Dave Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to Altercare of Ohio, 339 E. Maple Street, Suite 100, North Canton, OH 44720.
