Phyllis J. Owens

HARTVILLE – Phyllis J. Owens, age 71, passed away on October 19, 2018. Born in Akron to parents Edwin and Muriel Moore, she had been a resident of the Hartville area most of her life. Phyllis was a teacher in the Akron Public Schools for 32 years and was a longtime volunteer at Akron Children’s Hospital. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, Rick and was a loving wife and mother. Preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Rick in 2017, she is survived by her son, Scott; brothers-in-law, Bob (Priscilla) and Ronnie (Penny) Owens; nephew, John Hartman; and will be missed by other family and friends; and her special “pal”, London. The Owens family would like to thank her niece, Joann for the love and care she gave to Phyllis. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Private inurnment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
