Philip G. Bibey, Jr., 48, passed away July 31, 2012 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Akron, he lived in the Akron and Hartville areas most of his life. Philip was self-employed as a truck driver, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He attended Werner United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by brothers, John McHan and Sam Bibey, Philip is survived by children, Denise Elkins, John Bibey, Shyann Bibey and Nancy Bibey, all of Akron; four grandchildren; fiancée, Brenda McGee of Akron; mother and stepfather, Troyana and Richard Bowman of Hartville; father, Philip G. Bibey, Sr.; brothers, Richard Harper and Roger Bibey; and sister, Lorettia Bibey Riffle, all of Akron.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, 12:30 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St., UNIONTOWN, OH 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) with Rev. James W. Stafford officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, Northeast Region, 525 North Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406.
