Penny N. Davis

Penny N. Davis, 72, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly January 10, 2015.

She was born in Akron, was a 1960 graduate and cheerleader of East High School and was an active member of their reunion committee. Penny retired in 1997 from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 36 years, including service in Human Resources and Polyester Research. She was a former member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church and a current member of Mogadore Methodist Church where she chaired the Altar Guild, was a member of Naomi Circle, the outreach program and helped serve the Lions Club dinner.

Penny had a love of tamburitza music and was a friend to all musicians. She was an avid and gifted gardener and loved her flowers. Penny loved decorating her home for the holidays, taking photos of her family and enjoyed cooking, always making sure everyone got their plate filled before she did. She had a list of bucket trip tours, and got to travel to Alaska, the Caribbean, Europe and a 14 day 25th anniversary trip to Hawaii.

Preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Dorothy Nash; and stepson, Scott. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Charles L.; daughters, Cynthia Dimitroff of Akron, Lynette Dimitroff of Cuyahoga Falls; son, Michael (Joan) Pavlic of Parma; stepdaughter, Kelly (Jerry) Weber of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Evan Pavlic and Joey Raffaele; brothers, Raymond “Sonny” Nash Jr., Mike Nash, Ron (Tina) Nash; special friends, Steve and Elaine Mraz.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue (Route 532), MOGADORE, Ohio 44260 and from 10 - 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mogadore United Methodist Church, 3828 Mogadore Road, Mogadore, Ohio where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Pam Gable officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Mogadore Methodist Church.
