Paul Dewey Wood

Paul Dewey Wood, age 96, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017. Born in Akron, he lived in the area all of his life, and retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 41 years of service. Mr. Wood was a lifetime member of Brown Street Church of Christ, and enjoyed gardening and tinkering with cars. Preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Bettie Lou; son, James Leroy Wood; daughter-in-law, Billie Lynn Wood; grandson, Robert V. Corley; great-grandson, Anthony James Wood; three Wagner grandbabies; three brothers; and his twin sister, he will be missed by his children, Paul D. Wood Jr., Shirley (Keith) Wagner and Donna (Bob) Corley; grandchildren, Daniel (Tiffani) Fultz, James Paul Wood, Angelina (Tobie) Shriver, Christina Corley, Tricia Wood, Ryan (Martie) Wood and Christopher (Sarah) Wood; and nine great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Essex of Tallmadge for their love and care. Funeral service will be Thursday, 12 noon at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) with Pastor Don Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
