Paul Stanley Simmons

Paul Stanley Simmons, age 80, passed away July 26, 2021. Born in Spencer, West Virginia he moved to Akron and then settled to raise his family in Springfield Township. He was self-employed as a truck driver for 58 years, which allowed him to travel the country. He was a member of both the Masons and the Teamsters. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Holt and Virginia Simmons; son, Scottie; and sister, Betty. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Simmons; daughter, Lorie Simmons (David Dettling); step-daughter, Debbie Segin (Scott Burns); grandchildren, Phillip James Haley, Sydnee Tirri, and John Michael Segin; brother, Ralph Simmons (Nina); sisters, Linda Carper (Joe) and Jane Rosiek (Roger); nephews, Michael Brian Simmons, Randy Carper, and Jeffrey Rosiek; and nieces, Leann Carper and Krista Rosiek. Family and friends will be received Friday, July 30th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91) Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. A funeral service will be held following visitation at 7 p.m. Burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park on Saturday, July 31st at 10 a.m.
