Paul M. Sheppard

Paul M. Sheppard, age 86, went home to be with the Lord on October 27, 2016. Born in Akron, he graduated from Tallmadge High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Paul retired from AT&T after 30 years of employment. He was a member of The Chapel in Akron where he was an usher, lifetime deacon and served in many other capacities for over 66 years. Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Wilma Beatty and June Husk, he is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Marlene; children, Sue (David) Ley and Ken (Mary Ellen) Sheppard; grandchildren, Becky Ley, Zack (Katy) Ley, Katie Ley, Daniel (Ashley) Sheppard and Liz (Corey) Breck; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew, Joseph and Alayna. Friends and family will be received Wednesday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at The Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, Ohio 44304, where a Memorial Service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Schneider officiating. Interment with military honors will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore.
