Paul A. Hanus

Paul A. Hanus, 84, passed away August 18, 2023.

Born in Elyria, he lived most of his life in Green before moving to Lenoir, NC eight years ago. He was a radio and telegraph operator for the United States Marines from 1956 to 1958. Paul worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber and Motor Wheel Corp. for 36 ½ years and was a member of the Masons, Kiwanis, and Marine Corp League. He was known for his boisterous voice and enjoyed watching Ohio State Football and collecting memorabilia.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Irene P. Hanus. He is survived by son, Paul David (Rose Marie) Hanus; daughter, Terri Lynne (Keith) Kapper; wife of 9 ½ years, Deborah Hanus and her children, James (Michelle) Sutton, Jr., Kelly (Tom) Clark and children, Dana (Luke) Vroman; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, and their children.

A private graveside service will be held at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
