Patrick J. Rafferty

Patrick J. Rafferty, 87, of Suffield, passed away August 31, 2012.

He was a Goodyear retiree with 42 years of service; a 50-year Mason; and a member of the “greatest generation” who saw duty in the European Theater of Operations during World War II as a radio operator and a B-26 gunner.

Pat was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Martha; daughters, Janet Smith and Charlotte Tinker; brothers, Bernard, Eugene, John and Paul; and sister, Thelma. He is survived by daughter, Sheila Duke (Ben); sons, John and Robert (Pam); brothers, Arzi and Dan; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and good friends, Gary Packard and Bill Paulus.

Funeral service will be held Friday, 10 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44312 with Pastor Robert Webb Jr. officiating. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
