Patricia Lynn (McKosky) Yost

Patricia Lynn (McKosky) Yost, 63, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2016 at Summa Hospital after a lengthy battle with Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA).

 Born on February 12, 1953, Patty lived in Akron all of her life. She was a devoted daughter, sister, and wife. She loved craft shows and decorating her home, taking walks with her beloved Sadie.....and was certainly on a first name basis with every Operator who worked at QVC. If there is an art to shopping, she was definitely the Master. Patty was a graduate of Ellet High School ('71) and The University of Akron ('74). She worked for Goodyear Aerospace for 8 years, became the secretary at Rimer Elementary School and retired from Rimer after 25 years of service. Patty thoroughly enjoyed working with the children and staff. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Betty (Delaney) McKosky; in-laws, Bill and Jackie Yost; and grandparents, Harry and Anna Delaney and Michael and Tillie Myczkoski. Also, preceding her was the love of her life, Sadie Dog. She is survived by husband of nearly 38 years, Joseph; brother, John (Claudia) of The Woodlands, Texas; brothers-in-law Jim, Gary (Tobi), Randy, Bob (Trish) all of Akron. Also surviving is nephew, Steven (Gina) McKosky; and niece, Kate (Mazen) Nuwayhid; six great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. Sincere thanks to Sherry Sarvis and David and Kimm Bond for their help and support during Patty's challenging journey and special gratitude to the Visiting Angels. 

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening, May 12, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. There will also be calling hours on Friday morning from 10 to 11 a.m., followed immediately by the funeral service, officiated by Dr. Gary Colledge. Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions to fund research for a cure for MSA would be appreciated.
