Patricia Ann Eldreth

Patricia Ann (Risner) Eldreth Patricia, 68, was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She went home to be with her Savior on Monday, November 17, 2014.

Patricia was born July 5, 1946 in Betsy Lane, Kentucky to Byrtle and James Risner. They moved to Akron and Patricia graduated from Field High School in 1964 and The University of Akron in 1979. She worked at Akron Public Schools in the elementary libraries for 15 years. She met Joe Eldreth in 1963 and was married on November 27, 1965 during hunting season. Their 49th anniversary will be on the 27th of this month. Patricia loved and cared for her two daughters, Heather and Holly. She was a member of The Chapel for 42 years and volunteered in The Chapel Library. Patricia was an avid reader and speller.

Preceded in death by her father, James Orville Risner; and mother, Byrtle Elizabeth Harmon Risner; she is survived by her husband, Joe Eldreth; daughters, Heather (Wesley) Apitz and Holly (Howard) Leonard; grandchildren, Katlyn Jo and William James Apitz, Elisa Ann and Ella Grace Leonard; brother, James (Sandy) Risner; sister, Linda Risner; many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Hazel Eldreth; special friends, Vickie Chance and Barbara Hartman. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all Patricia’s healthcare personnel of Hospice of Akron General.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312, with Pastor Steve Bucy officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Patricia fought Multiple Sclerosis over 30 years. Donations can be made in her name to Oak Clinic for Multiple Sclerosis, 3838 Massillon Road, Suite 360, Uniontown, OH 44685.
