Opal Ruth Hartman (Franks)

Opal Ruth Hartman (Franks), age 86, passed away on January 27, 2017. Born in Randolph, she lived in the surrounding area most of her life. Opal was employed with Loral (Goodyear Aerospace) and was a member of several community organizations. She enjoyed playing piano and organ, and could never pass up an opportunity to sit down and play. She played in several bands and churches throughout her life. Preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and one sister, Opal is survived by her son, Jack Hartman (Joyce); daughter, Annette; grandchildren, Dawn Marie, Amy, Ashley and Justin; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Paul Franks (Luella). She will also be remembered by many relatives and friends, including very special friend, George Attalla. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312 with Pastor Alice Pol officiating. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home prior to the service Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Summa, 1077 Gorge Blvd., Akron, OH 44310.
