Norma Jean Palumbo, age 90, passed away on June 14, 2018.
Born in Akron, she lived in Mogadore her entire life and graduated from Mogadore High School.
Norma Jean worked in the grocery industry for 16 years as a cashier before becoming a full time mother and homemaker, the work she loved most. She was a member of St. Matthew Parish and the Mogadore Social Club.
Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph; sister, Joan Coburn; and brothers-in-law, John Palumbo and Richard Coburn, she is survived by son, Joseph III (Carol); daughters, Julie (Charles) Tortora and Jeanne (Jack) Alexander; grandchildren, Megan and Nathan Alexander, and Rachel (David) Reynolds; brother-in-law, James (Marty) Palumbo; sister-in-law, Sue Palumbo; and many nieces and nephews.
Per her request, there will be no visitation.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2580 Berne Street, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Father Michael Williamson presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mogadore Fire Department, 135 S. Cleveland Avenue, Mogadore, Ohio 44260.
