Nina (Lindgren) Kennedy, 88, passed away on September 21.
Born in Kentucky, she moved to Akron at a young age and graduated from East High School in 1954. She married Wesley Lindgren and started their family soon after. Following the raising of their boys, Nina returned to college to finish her degrees in education and dedicated 30+ years to Springfield High School, blending her love of English and molding young minds. She was Teacher of the Year for the district and won numerous awards for her Debate Teams’ successes.
She loved good chocolate, nature, particularly bird watching and travel…especially China and Greece, but her most favorite trip was to Australia where she met the second love of her life, Bob Kennedy.
Preceded in death by her sons Steve and Tim, and her husband Wes, sisters Joann and Rosine, she is survived by husband Robert Kennedy and many whose lives she touched.
