Nicholas D. "Nick" Westfall

Nicholas D. “Nick” Westfall, age 23, passed away December 29, 2013.

Born in Akron, he was currently serving proudly in the U.S. Army, and returned from his second deployment to Afghanistan. Nick was an avid outdoorsman, and was currently employed at Summit Racing.

He is survived by his parents, William and Karyn Westfall; brothers, Brandon Westfall and Dwayne Orndorff; and nephew, Kaden Orndorff.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, 12 noon at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Pastor David Hohlbaugh officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. BURIAL WITH MILITARY HONORS WILL BE HELD 2:00 P.M. FRIDAY AT OHIO WESTERN RESERVE NATIONAL CEMETERY. FAMILY AND FRIENDS SHOULD MEET AT THE FUNERAL HOME BY 12:30 P.M. FRIDAY TO FOLLOW IN PROCESSION
