Neva L. Hembury, 92, passed away March 15, 2013.
Born in Upshur County, Texas, she lived most of her life in Akron where she was a school teacher for over 30 years, and was a member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church. Neva also taught school after moving to Mississippi, where she lived for 20 years.
Preceded in death by her husband, Teddy C. Hembury; parents, Archie and Lillie Lindsey; daughter, Karen Strehlau; brother, Aubrey Lindsey; and sisters, Vaudis Delaughter and Nelda Haley, she is survived by son, Larry Hembury (Elaine); sisters, Erma Magee, Verda Bracey and Kay Smith; grandchildren, Sonya Cole (Ernie), Jennifer Williams (Jeff), Jason Hembury (Tamara), Jeff Coffman, Kimberly Griffith and Michele Strehlau; great-grandchildren, Greg Griffith, Jeff Coffman, Chad Coffman, Ashley Bowen, Bradley Cole, Jacob Cole, Jordan Williams, Justin Williams, Tyler Hembury and Ethan Hembury; and great-great-grandchildren, Juliana, Karmen and Gabrielle Griffith, and Ava Bowen.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, OH 44312, where a funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Barry C. French officiating. Further services and burial will be held in Darbun, Mississippi.
