Nancy K. Klauka, age 68, was carried home by angels on April 29, 2015 after a long illness.
Born in Akron, she was a 1964 graduate of Randolph High School and Akron St. Thomas School of Nursing. Nancy was employed at Akron Children’s Hospital for 15 years in the Pediatric Burn Ward, and at Denver General Hospital for 25 years in the Children’s Trauma Unit and Clinic. She moved back to the area in 2000, and provided Home Health Care for physically challenged children until she was diagnosed with cancer in 2006. Nancy was like the Energizer Bunny – she just kept going and going, and giving and giving. She was a real gem.
Preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Ruth Klauka; Nancy is survived by sisters, Joyce Klauka of Colorado and Janet Klauka (Denny Himebaugh) of North Canton; brothers, Richard M. (Lou Anne) Klauka of Randolph and Dan Klauka of North Canton; nieces, Lisa Klauka of Massillon and Rae Lynn Klauka of Boston, Mass.; nephews, Brian (Kim) Klauka of Mooresville, N.C., and their children, Mackenzie and Brooke, Keith Klauka of Solon; Aunt, Meta Mueller of Cincinnati; and a host of other relatives.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, 11 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Road, Mogadore, Ohio 44260, with Father Thomas Acker, S.J. presiding. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. There will be a Celebration of Life meal immediately following the service at the K of C Hall.
