Mona Lee (Simmons) Kratzer, 86, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2017 with her loving family by her side.
Mona was born on November 9, 1931 to the late George and Maycel Thomas. Her entire world revolved around her family and she devoted her life to cooking, cleaning, and caring for them. Mona was preceded in death by the two great loves of her life, husbands, Richard Simmons and Dale Kratzer; son, Chuck; stepson, Robert; brother, Jim; and sisters, Betty, Shirley and Peaches.
She is survived by daughters, Linda (Jerry) Joyner, Brenda (Mark) Kovacik and Debbie (Ed) Novak; daughter-in-law, Terry Simmons; stepdaughters, Marcia (Clyde) Swain and Jenny (Dave) Knopf; stepsons, Jim (Ana) Kratzer and John (Pam) Kratzer; sister, Joan Harper; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank the staff of The Gables of KentRidge assisted living for their loving care of our mom over the past four years.
