Michael W. Heggedus

Michael W. Heggedus (Combs) “Jammer”, age 45, died unexpectedly on February 16, 2015.

Born in Akron, he lived in Mogadore most of his life, and graduated from Mogadore High School in 1988. Michael was employed with Cuyahoga Falls Replacement Windows for 27 years as Joe’s right hand man. Music was his life. As a member of three tribute bands, The Nightmare (an Alice Cooper tribute band), The Dream Police (a Cheap Trick tribute band) and Eddie (an Iron Maiden tribute band), he loved being on stage. Michael was able to meet several of his musical heroes over the years. He loved to reminisce, and could spend hours talking about music on the phone. Michael recently performed in two Indie films.

Upon meeting someone for the first time, his favorite question was always, “Who’s your top three bands of all time?” He would then share his own answer – Triumph, Y&T and Survivor. Always loveable and likeable, Michael was always ready to help others in any way he could. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and classic TV shows, and enjoyed golfing. Most of all, Michael cherished his wife, mom, dad and his animals.

He is now with his Grandpa, who preceded him in death; and is survived by his wife and best friend, Helen; parents, Bill and Sharon Combs; and an enormous amount of family, friends and fans who will miss him greatly. Feel free to wear jeans and your favorite concert shirt - Michael would love that - on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue (Route 532), MOGADORE, Ohio 44260, where a time of sharing will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
