Merle G. Metheney

Merle G. Metheney, age 97, went home to be with the Lord September 17, 2013.

Born in Mudfork, W. Va., she had lived in Uniontown for over 30 years and was a member of Uniontown Chapel of Faith. Merle was a homemaker, and a loving mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband, Addie; daughter and son-in-law, Dorma and Wayne Riggs; son, Darrell Eugene; granddaughter, Sandra Brown; great-granddaughter, Angie Combs; and eight siblings; she is survived by daughter, Dorothy (Gary) Ringler; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Tressie Sharp.

Funeral service will be Friday, 12 noon at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Rev. Jack A. Coontz officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time Friday.
