Max I. Swartz
Max I. Swartz “Max-the-Sax”, age 74, passed away on February 22, 2018.
Born in Sebastopol, Calif., he lived in the Mogadore area most of his life, retiring from B.F. Goodrich after 30+ years of service. Max was a member of the German-American Club and the Sons of Herman, and played the saxophone in numerous bands over the years. He enjoyed cooking and baking, and especially loved time spent with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Preceded in death by his father, Max I. Swartz; and grandchildren, Jason Kindel, and Emma and Zachary Horning, Max is survived by his mother, Thelma Swartz; children, Michelle “Shelly” Scott, Mark (Laura) Swartz, Heather (Brad) Horning, Stefanie Alderin and Cody Swartz; grandchildren, Jessica (Dave), Amanda, Madison, Madelyn, Izzy and Caitlin; great-grandchildren, Corinne and one on the way; and sister, Jill (Denny) Wright.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will announced at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, 15120 Collections Center Drive, Chicago, IL 60693.
