Mavin W. “Bud” Corbin, Jr., 86, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on May 2, 2012.
Born in Akron, he was a lifetime area resident. Bud graduated from Manchester High School, and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Akron, and went on to graduate school at Bowling Green State University, Kent State University, Oberlin College and Miami University, earning his master’s degree. Mr. Corbin taught Elementary and High School Music in Mogadore, and was an Elementary Principal for Springfield Township Schools.
Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister, he is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley; daughters, Rena M. Belacic and Daneen L. Corbin (fiancé, Robert Lawthers); son, Randy K. (Michelle) Corbin; grandchildren, Angela Sot (David), Matthew and Alex Corbin; and brother, Harold Corbin.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, 12 noon, at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Ave., MOGADORE 44260, with Pastor Michael Shaub officiating. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service at 12 noon on Saturday.
