Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" (Spangler) Rosso

Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Rosso, age 81, passed away August 26, 2018. Born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, Betsy lived in California from 1960 until recently moving to Tallmadge, Ohio earlier this year. She was employed with O’Connor Hospital in San Jose, California for many years. Betsy was an avid reader, sometimes reading several books per week and occasionally reading several in one day. She loved to play cards, especially Pinochle. Betsy loved going to garage sales, decorating her home and was always ready for an adventure! She cherished her family and her greatest joy in life was to spend time with them. Preceded in death by her husband, Lou Rosso; siblings, Charles Spangler, Eloise Menendez and George Spangler; father, Charles and mother, Margaret Spangler. Betsy is survived by her son, Robert (Connie) Rosso; daughter, Kathleen (Brent) Elliot; stepsons, Ron (Marianne) and Gary (Marina) Rosso; grandchildren, Nicholas, Veronica, Reilly, Sam, Eve, Becky and Michael; great grandchildren, Quentin, Oliver and Beau; brother, Dan (Jean) Spangler; and sister, Margaret Lasher. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 12 Noon, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2580 Berne Street, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Father Michael Williamson presiding. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Cleveland Clinic Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333.
