Mary Rose Schnars
June 18, 1924 — February 19, 2016
Mary Rose Schnars, age 91, passed away on February 19, 2016.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and recently of Uniontown, Ohio, she retired from Penn Hills School District and was a member of Uniontown United Methodist Church. Her passion was her family, friends, a good card game and the music of a “1940’s” big band. She was unselfish, a friend to all and her undeniable spark for life was inspirational.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles “Bud” Schnars; son, Richard; parents, Andrew and Mary Hospodor; and sister, Betty. She was grateful for the unconditional love and care of Debby, Steve, Megan and Jamie Frank. She is survived by son, Ken (Lynda) Schnars; and daughters, Nancy (Gene) Rooney, Debby (Steve) Frank and Karen Carroll; daughter-in-law, Cathy Schnars; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the staff of Altercare of Hartville for the love and care of our beloved mother.
A private burial is planned for spring in Pittsburgh. Memorials may be made to: Pathway Caring for Children, Foster Care Department, 4895 Dressler Road NW, Suite A, Canton, OH 44718.
