Mary Jane Renick (nee Clifford)

"Together Again" Mary Jane Renick (nee Clifford) Mary Jane Renick, age 84, lost her courageous battle with Alzheimer’s on January 13, 2018. She was born in Akron, Ohio and grew up in Stow. Marriage took her to Topeka, Kansas in 1967 and she returned to Ohio in 1979 living in the Uniontown and North Canton areas. Mary Jane graduated from Stow high school, and earned her bachelor’s degree in fine arts from The Ohio State University. She was a former member of Uniontown United Methodist Church, a current member of Grace United Methodist Church in North Canton, and remained a life member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Mary Jane’s passions included quilting, collecting buttons, attending auctions, and traveling with her family. Some of her happiest memories were made while traveling through Colorado, Arkansas, and Canada. Mary Jane was a fantastic cook and baker who enjoyed hosting meals with family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who taught us unconditional love and compassion. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Keith R. Renick; parents, Dr. Albert M. and Ruth Clifford; sister, Amy Clifford Kuemmerling; and brother, Charles P. Clifford, she is survived by sister, Eleanor Clifford Seiff; daughters, Juliann Barnett and Susan (Tim) Archual; son, Mark (Kim) Renick; grandchildren, Laura, Heather, Leah, Jeremy, Aaron, and Allison; great-grandchildren, Dominic, and Madison; and many friends. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed. The family would like to express a special thank you to Bethany Nursing Home for their outstanding loving care, compassion, and friendship to Mary Jane and her entire family over these past three years, and also a special thank you to Crossroads Hospice for the care in her final days. Friends and family will be received Friday, January 19th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 20th, 11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1720 Schneider St. NW, North Canton, Ohio 44720 with Rev. Jared Williams officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the Celebration of Life on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. A private family burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 70 West Streetsboro Street, Suite 201, Hudson, Ohio 44236 or Bethany Nursing Home, 626 34th Street NW, Canton, Ohio 44709.
