Mary E. Phelps (Zumsteg)

Mary E. Phelps (Zumsteg) Mary E. Phelps, 99, passed away July 10, 2012.

Born in Altoona, Pa., she lived in the Akron area most of her life. Mary was a member of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church. She loved bowling, and also enjoyed roller skating.

Preceded in death by her husband, Phil in 1990; and sister, Christine Hale, she is survived by her friends, Rita and Terry Schreckengost of Kent; and their children, Shawn (Lisa) Schreckengost and Melisa (Scott) Lindsey; and grandchildren, Austin, Nicholas and Shawn Jr.

Special thanks to the staff at Falls Village and Harbor Light Hospice for their loving care of Mary.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron 44312, with Pastor Matthew McDaniel officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 190 S. Maple St., Akron, OH 44302.
