Mary J. Lanum

Mary J. Lanum, 90, went to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ January 16, 2013.

Born in Cairo, West Virginia, she lived in Akron most of her life and retired from General Tire. Mary was an avid golfer, bowler, and enjoyed gardening in her greenhouse and outdoors. Preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William; she is survived by nieces, Barbera (Bill) Wells, Jackie (Larry) Patterson, Linda (Jim) Renick, Vickie (Dick) Kenna, and Beverly Sanner; nephews, Paul Chapman, Mike Chapman, and Kenneth Short; brother-in-law, Junior Chapman; sister-in-law, Mabel Short; and many great-nieces, -nephews, faithful friends and neighbors.

Funeral service will be Monday, 12 noon at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. until service time.
