Mary Ann Horschak

Mary Ann Horschak joined her loving mother, Anna, father, Samuel and brother, John in heaven on March 20, 2013. Left to cherish her memory are sister, Irene (Tony) Mykych of Clifton, N.J.; brother, Pete (June) Horschak of Kent, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Dolores Horschak of Akron, Ohio. Mary was affectionately known as “Aunt Marish” by her nieces and nephews, Julie, Danny, Sandy, Andra, Ryan and Dana. She adored her many great-nieces and –nephews.

Mary, a Kent State graduate, retired after 30 years as a teacher in the Cleveland Public Schools, where she met her best friend, Ruth Wheeler. Her legacy is her family, students, books and love of animals.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Father Thomas Acker, S.J. officiating. Friends may call from 12 noon until service time Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary’s name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
