Mary Kathryn (MacBride) Hillenbrand 86, of Uniontown passed away May 16, 2024 at her home surrounded by her daughter Marla and close friends. A graduate of Akron Garfield High School, Mary worked for several law firms and was retired from Hoover Hayden and Herrnstein law firm.

Proceeded in death by her husband of 49 years John F Hillenbrand, her son, John Michael Hillenbrand (John John) grandson William C. Martell (Billy) and her sister Barb Rowland. She is survived by her daughter Marla Hillenbrand Martell and daughter Lisa Brown Fry and her children Andrea Thompson and Matthew Brown; brother Fred MacBride (Jenny) and his children Paul, Mark and Kathy McBride - her sister Barb's, children Danny, David, Amy and her dear friend Janet Jackson her girls MaryAlice, Marcy and Rhonda as well as many family members and friends.

Mary enjoyed gardening and took pride in her flowers. Recently she began crafting and made wreaths for friends and donated them to hospice patients. Christmas was her favorite time of the year, and she prepared for it all year. Mary was a force to be reckoned with, whether as PTA council president or mother's helper in the classroom or as a tutor, she had the welfare of children in forefront of her mission. Always an avid reader, she made sure all of her group of mom's "the old chicks" gave books to the Harris Jackson school library. She was such a history buff she gave us all a civics and history lesson every time anyone saw her. One of Mary's favorite things was to recite the line of Succession to the English Royal family.

Those lives that Mary touched are invited to a “Celebration Of Life” June 8th 2024 from 2 pm to 4 pm, at Village Mayfair South Club House 4016 Mayfair Road Uniontown, Ohio 44685. The family and friends would like to express their gratitude towards the hospice team at Harmony Cares.
