Mary Jo (Bry) Anderson

Mary Jo (Bry) Anderson, age 69, departed this earthly life into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior on April 15, 2015. She died a peaceful death after fighting a long encounter of postsurgical complications.

Her kind, sweet personality will be missed by all that knew her, especially those that received a “Thinking of you”, or similar such card from her over the years. Her passion was letting everyone know that she was thinking about them, and she would always add a personal note to each of those cards that would show her genuine concern for you and your situation. Mary Jo, (Mimi, to her grandchildren), was a lifelong member of Ellet Grace Brethren Church, a graduate of Akron Ellet High School, Class of ’64, and lived her entire life in Akron or the surrounding area.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Joe Bry; and brother, Don Bry. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Richard; son, Scott; daughter, Wendy (Martin) Ligas; sister, Nancy (Richard) Placeway; and five beautiful and talented grandchildren, Zoe and Michael Anderson, Haley, Eric and Faith Ligas.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21st, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Ellet Grace Brethren Church, 530 Stetler Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44312. A memorial service will immediately follow the calling hours at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Ellet Grace Brethren Church.
