Marlene Ann Hays, age 73, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with many illnesses.
She was born in Akron and lived in Green until residing at Chapel Hill Community in Canal Fulton. Marlene graduated from Green High School and retired from Choices Social Center after 15 years. She was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church and enjoyed painting, reading, baking, art, and listening to Bill Gaither and his vocal band. Marlene was a lover of all things frogs.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, George B. and Sylvia M. Hays; and sister, Deborah Hays. She is survived by daughter, Melissa Ann Hays; grandchildren, Sierra (Zach) Cell-Miller; great-grandchildren, Oliver and Evelyn Cell-Miller; sister, Pamela J. (Robert) Milhoan; and nieces, Jennifer Bird and Tiffany (Steven) Martin. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org/ or to Greensburg United Methodist Church VBS at 2161 Greensburg Rd, North Canton, OH 44720.
Friends and Family will be welcome to celebrate Marlene at the Chapel Hill Community’s Chapel, 12200 Strausser St NW, Canal Fulton, OH 44614, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 6, 2022. Services will start at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Fairlawn, Ohio. Per request, COVID protocols will be in place; masks and social distancing are expected.
