Margaret Jane (Gorrell) Shaw

Margaret J. Shaw, age 91, passed away April 23, 2015. Born in Ravenswood, W.Va., she lived in the area since 1944, working at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, while involved with the Gamma Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Margaret was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church, occasionally joined in The Piecemakers, Green AARP, and had been a member of the Goodyear Blue and Gold. We will cherish her memories. She was the loving wife of the late Robert C. Shaw Sr., married for 51 years; loving mother of Susan (Shaw) Slaby and David Slaby; and stepmom to Robert C. (Megan) Shaw Jr. and Linda Lombardo. Dear grandmother of Michelle (Ben) Miller, Jeremy Shaw, Kristen (Bill) Martinez and Angelina (Matt) Marble; great-grandmother to Austin and Nikolas Halter; dearest sister of Ollie Yohey and seven late siblings; dearest aunt to Kim (David) Nott and Scott (Jen) Yohey; and great aunt to Tyler and Connor Yohey. Margaret was blessed to have a large family and many great friends. Margaret’s family would like to thank Dr. Irene Chenowith, Summa at Home Hospice and volunteers, and her Home Instead aides for their excellent care. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), where funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Abby Auman and Rev.
