UNIONTOWN -- Marcus C. Kline, age 96, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2017 and is now together again with his wife, Pauline.
Born in Akron, he was a lifelong resident of the area. Mr. Kline served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling in his camper to Florida with his wife. A strong advocate of regular exercise, he faithfully rode his stationary bicycle daily. Marcus loved oatmeal raisin cookies and Tootsie Pops. Above all, he was a cherished father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved spending time with his family.
Prededed in death by his wife of 72 years, Pauline; and brother, Ken, he is survived by sons, George K. (Sylvia), Richard C. (Pamela) and Tom P.; daughters, Mary Annette Kline (Al Goldsmith), Jeanne (Bob) Corley and Barbara (Richard) Davis; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 11 a.m. at St. Peter of the Fields Catholic Church, 3487 Old Forge Road, Rootstown, Ohio 44272 with Father David Misbrener presiding and Father John Zapp concelebrant. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Peter of the Fields Cemetery. Friends will be received at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the Mass. The family suggests memorials to Holy Spirit or St. Peter of the Fields Catholic Church.
