Mabel I. Long

Mabel I. Long, 79, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012.

Born in Akron, she was a lifetime area resident. Mabel retired from Ferriott Brothers and was a life member of Mogadore VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Mom enjoyed her family, her cats (especially Ramboo), and vacationing in Florida at Disney World and Daytona Beach.

Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Long in 1978, and parents, Gladys Popiel and Forrest Whitison; left to cherish her memories are children, Debbie Hagan, Bill (Kathy) Long, and Pam (Fred) Weigand; grandchildren, Matthew, Courtney and Brian Long, and Danielle, Nicholas and Michael Weigand; special lifelong companion, Gary James, who she loved dearly, and his children, Tina (Doug) Hastings and Melissa Wise; and grandchildren, Brittney and Cassidy Hastings and Dekota Piotter.

A special thanks to all who cared for our mom and who were so patient with her at Arbors at Fairlawn. We will never forget what you did.

Funeral service Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Ave. (Route 532), MOGADORE, Ohio 44260. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, and from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
