Lucy Ann Dobbins

Lucy Ann Dobbins, age 75, passed away December 18, 2016. Born June 7, 1941 in Akron, Ohio, Lucy was a lifetime area resident. She was employed at Akron City Hospital/Summa Health System for 46 years. Lucy was a member and volunteer of the Akron Blind Center and Derby Downs. She enjoyed knitting and also playing the accordion and piano. Preceded in death by her parents, Ann and Leonard Dobbins; and her beloved cat, Sebastian; she is survived by her brother, Charles (Diane) Dobbins of Payne, Ohio; sisters, Jane E. Traux (Walter Moore) of Boiling Spring Lakes, North Carolina and Carol Beatty of Akron, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Harbor Light Hospice for their loving care of their sister. Friends and family will be received Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312 where a funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Mike Giacomoni officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials to the Akron Blind Center, 325 E. Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44304.
