Laura Sommers, age 66, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 30th, 2018 after her courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her devoted family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna (Coblentz) and Monroe Detweiler; and three brothers, Laverne, Wilber and his wife, Rose Mary, and Raymond. Laura was a loving wife to Allen Sommers; adoring mother to son, Michael and Shelly (Kurtz) of Venice, Fla. and son, Gary of Hartville; affectionate grandmother to grandchildren, Christian, Melissa, and Kelli (Sommers) and Lucio Castro; as well as great-grandchildren, Isabella and Mateo. She is also survived by sister, Elsie Anderson of Florida; brothers, Harold (Debbie) of Wyoming, Jim (Laurie) of Pennsylvania, Lester of Florida; and sisters-in-law, Ramona, Etta, and Ila; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, church family and coffee crew.
Friends and family will be received Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Evermore Community Church, 1470 Smith Kramer Street NE, Hartville, Ohio 44632. Burial will take place Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. at Evermore Church Cemetery, followed by a Memorial Service Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Ross Miller officiating. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406.
