Laura (Moey) Price, age 77, went peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on April 2, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; son-in-law, Greg; brother, Orville; sister, Sylvia; and parents, Lila and Marshall. She leaves behind daughters, Diana and Cathy; son-in-law, Leo; stepson, Shawn (Angel); grandchildren, Jamie, Gregg, Jessica, Jillian and Sydney; great-grandchildren, Josh, Tiffany, Ryan and Becca; and brothers, Ed and Howard.
Laura spent her entire life making sure her loved ones were taken care of and was always there for a shoulder to lean on. It was her arms that wrapped around us and picked us up when we stumbled or fell, and it was her voice that spoke comforting words in difficult times. She was a giver who gave whatever was needed, even if it was everything she had. She lived by two mottos in life, “It is better to give than receive” and “You always need a little pin money”. Her chair is worn where she sat at the table and shared stories, a laugh, gave advice or just listened to our problems or shared in our joys.
Her body was tired from a lifetime of giving of herself physically, emotionally, and financially to those she loved. Her wallet was light from a lifetime of giving to her children and from buying the grandchildren all the extras in life that they wanted. British Knights, NKOB tickets, a dress for prom, or help getting to the UK are just a few that highlight her generosity. Whatever they wanted she found a way to give it to them. And none of us ever left her house without the offer of “a little pin money”. She gave from her heart and she gave with love. Our cups runneth over from a lifetime of the love and devotion we received from this phenomenal woman. Dementia robbed our mother’s mind, but it could not steal the legacy she left behind. Rest in peace, Mom. You will forever be in our hearts.
