Laura “Maxine” Kiggans, 90, passed away peacefully November 22, 2014.
She was born in Akron and was a life resident of the area. Maxine was a homemaker and beautician, a longtime member of Mogadore Christian Church, and the Billow Chapter #483 O.E.S., where she once served as Worthy Matron. She enjoyed crocheting dishcloths that she often gave to her family and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Jesse and Gertrude Bonzo; her husband, Harold; brothers, Richard, David and Fred Bonzo; sisters, Anita Sisler and Stella Higy. She is survived by son, Harold (Bobbie) Kiggans Jr.; daughters, Laura (Jennings) Kisner and Elizabeth (Mark) Prusinowski; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, friends and her lifelong friend, Betty Taber. The family would like to thank the staff of Falls Village and Crossroads Hospice Team E for their loving care of Maxine.
The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. TONIGHT (Monday) at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312, where Billow Chapter #483 will conduct Eastern Star Services at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with Dr. Eugene Higgins officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. The family suggests memorials to Crossroads Hospice.
