Kyle Matthew Smith "Superman"

Kyle Matthew Smith “Superman” passed away unexpectedly at Akron Children’s Hospital on February 22, 2017. Born on March 3, 2014 with Myotonic Dystrophy, he courageously underwent numerous surgeries and continued to smile through it all. Kyle enjoyed watching Doc McStuffins, playing with his green phone and cuddling his best friend, Very Hungry Caterpillar. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Jennifer Brown (Matthew Leighty); father, Ronald Michael Smith; grandparents, Ronald and Gail Smith of Akron, Beverly Dunn of Uniontown, Pa.; brother, Alex Smith; sister, Alexis Brown; aunts, Karen (Gary) Abrams and Amanda (Henry) Duncan; uncle, Eric (Elizabeth) Smith; and many great-aunts, –uncles and cousins. The family would like to thank Maxim Health Services, especially Mindy and Rebecca for their wonderful care. Friends and family will be received Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will follow on Saturday, 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Matthew Stull officiating. Entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
