Kim Marks, age 59, went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2021.
Kim was born in Southampton, Pa. and lived in Green, Ohio. She graduated from University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and retired as a registered nurse after a career that included Akron City Hospital and other various home health care agencies.
Kim’s hobbies included raising orchids, gardening, cooking, baking, crafting, and making her famous toffee. She enjoyed taking care of her family and friends, her dogs, and her Koi pond. Deck Fridays and beach vacations with family and friends were especially cherished by Kim. She was always planning and looking forward to the next one.
She is preceded in death by her father, Fred Beer. Kim is survived by her husband and soul-mate of 36 years, Patrick Marks; son, Shawn Marks (Jordan Jakab); daughter, Courtney Peel (Jackman); mother, Gail Beer; brother, Greg Beer (Alyssa); sisters, Cindy Kulasa (Mike), and Kristen Phillips (Jeff). She is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews, and 10 brothers and sisters in law; as well as her Bernese Mountain Dog, Bella; and her granddogs, Bear and Roxy.
Friends and Family will be received on Thursday, November 18th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, UNIONTOWN, 3553 Northdale Street NW (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Avenue), Uniontown, Ohio 44685. A funeral service will be held immediately after at 7 p.m. with Reverend Joyce Wealand officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
