Karen S. Watkins

Karen Watkins of Jackson Twp. left this life on January 20, 2015.

She was an Akron Public School teacher for 35 years, teaching math and history at Hyre Middle School. She leaves behind her family, Dave and Linda Lamb of Massillon; Zachary Kouns of Phoenix, Ariz.; Brianna and Alaina Kouns of Massillon; cousin, Marilyn Kitchen of Waxhaw, N.C.; and other friends and family.

Funeral service will be Sunday, 3 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312 with Frank Schimberg officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Private burial at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
