Karen E. O'Brien (nee Herman)

Karen E. O’Brien, age 58, passed away suddenly on October 8, 2014, and is now with the Lord.

Born in Akron, Karen was a life resident of the area, and dedicated her life to helping others. She loved working on crafts, especially making quilts, but most of all she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Herman; and is survived by her husband of 27 years, James; son, Bradley; father, Ralph (Rose) Herman; brothers, Robert “Bo” (Robin), John, Richard (Kimberly) and Paul (Marilyn); and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312, where funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Father Thomas Acker, S.J. officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, Northeast Region, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406.
