Julie Ann Bartholet

Julie Ann Bartholet (née Jones), (March 16, 1959 – January 8, 2025), 65, of Akron, Ohio, cherished and beloved grandmother, mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend passed away unexpectedly.

Julie’s love and kindness emanated from her heart to form a halo around all those in her life. Her indomitable spirit and generosity were an extraordinary blessing. Her heart was accepting and judgement-free. Having Julie in your life was big fun. 

Julie had many hobbies. She was an expert gin rummy and euchre player. She was an avid reader, a passion she passed on to her son, Nick, and a sci-fi movie buff. She was always ready to hop in the truck and go junking in Amish Country to look for treasures. 

Julie loved to camp and go on adventures. She and her husband, Perry, could camp anywhere in anything, including a truck and a tarp, only needing a direction to drive. There are many fond memories camping, whether at Springwood or Nelson’s Ledges. They visited many beautiful parks, a favorite being Cook’s Forest. 

Julie was a lover of music and had a beautiful singing voice. Julie and Perry went to many concerts together. Julie played the piano and admired the musical and performance talents of her children. Her son Brian fondly remembers Julie’s delight listening to him learn and excel in guitar. She loved watching her son Jack sing and attend his shows. Karaoke was big, something her daughter Melissa enjoyed sharing with her. 

Julie was a fabulous baker and cook. She and her grandson, Bruce, could bake almost anything. We will miss her chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, stuffed shells, banana bread, and lemon blossoms. Her daughter-in-law, Nichole, thanks her for so many wonderful recipes and time together making meals. Her son, Brett, was the best stuffed shell maker. 

Julie had a strong faith in Christ. Her daughter, Lauren, thanks her for being a prayer warrior partner. Julie and Lauren had many conversations where Julie shared the hope, mystery, and excitement of meeting Jesus. 

Julie is survived by her husband Walter Perry Bartholet; children, Melissa, Lauren, Brian, Nick (Nichole), and Jack; grandchildren, Bruce and Harper; siblings, Don, Sandy, and Cindy, and many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and friends. 

Preceded in death by her parents, Don and Gladys; son, Brett.

A celebration of life will be held on January 17, 2025 between 5pm and 8pm at Calvary Temple, located at 3045 Albrecht Ave, Akron, OH 44312. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to be made in Julie’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
