Judy went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a brief illness on 4/17/23. Judy was the glue that held our family together, the sweetest, most loving and kind soul that anyone could ever know, and a beautiful human being in every sense of the word. Throughout her life, she did God’s work in more ways than could possibly fit on this page. Judy was preceded in death by Roger, her beloved husband of 49 years.
She leaves to mourn her passing Kelley Rentfrow (Greg), Tracey (Donald Moore), Cari, sons David, and Darrell (Laura). She also doted on 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and was adored by many nieces and nephews. Judy was a fun-loving, supportive, fiercely loyal mother who loved all her children with intensity and made them all want to be the best version of themselves they could be. A loyal friend to many, Judy was a positive force in hundreds of lives.
Judy was born in Cleveland, Ohio to parents George and Harriet Raybould, and made them proud as their beautiful daughter. She attended Kent State University in the late 1950’s and then spent her working years balancing the needs of home and career, working in several different fields. This included 15 years in University Publications at Kent State. She finished her degree in her early 60s. Upon graduating, she spent the last few years of her career working in her field of public health education.
Those who knew Judy, understood that her faith in Jesus Christ was a powerful force in her life. For the last two decades, she was an active member of Greensburg United Methodist Church. Over her adult life she taught Sunday school, served as Secretary of the board, sang in the choir, and led several programs devoted to giving aid to those in need.
If there is a theme to Judy’s life it was carrying out Christ’s command for us to help others. She was quick to jump in to assist a family member, friend, or sometimes total stranger in need, tirelessly working to get people through a tough situation. Judy led by example. Anyone who knew her understood just how giving she was. Galations 6:2 "Carry each other’s burdens and so you will fulfill the law of Christ”.
